Ancient Madder silk twill is made in England, although nowadays there are only a very few mills that still produce it. The reason is that its production requires an extremely laborious and expensive traditional process. In fact, the silk maker that supplies us (located in Macclesfield, Cheshire county), can only produce about 20 meters per day. However, all this effort, results in an extraordinary fabric, prized for its designs, aging tones and soft, yet consistent feel.
